Jeffrey Pierce

Jeffrey Pierce is a native of Mobile, Alabama.  Jeffrey graduated from St. Paul’s Episcopal High School and attended Birmingham-Southern College in the honors program, transferring to the University of Alabama where he excelled in his studies, making the President’s List and English Honor Society.  Jeffrey also excelled in rugby, and in the 1990s, he led the Crimson Tide in the United States East Coast playoffs, for the first time in team history. After playing for the United States East Coast All-Star Select side team for a short time, Jeffrey turned down offers to play professional rugby opting instead to pursue his studies.  Jeffrey attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he pursued a master’s degree in literature with a focus on Anglo-Saxon literature.  Jeffrey then transitioned into studying the law and received his first law degree from Mississippi College of Law, graduating in top quarter of his class.  Jeffrey returned to pursue a Master of Law degree, obtaining the same with honors in from the University of Alabama Law School.   


Jeffrey’s legal career has been varied.  He has worked with the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office, as judicial clerk to the Honorable James M. Moody, United States District Court Judge for the Eastern District of Arkansas, and has practiced with the law firms of Daniel, Coker, Horton & Bell, P.A. (Gulfport); Allen, Vaughn, Cobb & Hood, P.A. (Gulfport); and McGlinchey-Stafford, P.L.L.C. (Jackson) before opening his own practice in 2009. From 2015-2020, Jeffrey served as an Administrative Law Judge for the Mississippi State Personnel Board’s Employee Appeals Board.   Jeffrey has been recognized on two occasions by the Mississippi Journal for his Leadership in the Law.


In additional to his law practice, Jeffrey has enjoyed teaching varying aspects of trial practice, business law, criminal law, domestic law and paralegal studies at the University of Southern Mississippi, Tulane University and Mississippi College School of Law. 


Jeffrey’s love of the law has driven him to give back to his profession and he has devoted many years of service to the Mississippi Bar serving as a member of the Ethics Committee (2004-2008), the Professionalism Committee (2008), as a Bar Commissioner for the 19th Judicial District (2017-2020), and by way of his service on the Mississippi Board of Bar Admission's Character and Fitness Review Committee (2004-2013).   


Jeffrey has served on many boards, but his dedication to children’s advocacy has been his love, as demonstrated by his service on the Centers for Prevention of Child Abuse Board and the CASA Board.  Jeffrey became a CASA volunteer in 1997 and has cherished the law school’s recognition of that service by way of the school’s Pro Bono Award for service in the community.  Jeffrey reconnected with CASA on the Mississippi Gulf Coast where he was an initiating force in the formation of the Harrison County CASA.  He has served on the Southeast Mississippi CASA board and is a past president.   

Jeffrey is licensed to practice law in Mississippi and Alabama. His service areas include: Ocean Springs, Biloxi, Gulfport, Pascagoula, D'Iberville, Bay St. Louis, Pass Christian, Long Beach, Gautier, Moss Point, Lucedale, Hattiesburg, and Mobile, Alabama.
